In honor of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) coming up on November 2nd, a pop up restaurant in London called Los Tacos is creating special Glow-in-the-Dark Tacos! Yep you read it right, Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos! You might be wondering – ok are they really Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos? Take a look at their instagram feed below and I would venture to say they really are!
What is Day of the Dead and How Are Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos Related?
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday actually spanning a few days. During this time people gather together to pray for and remember friends and family who passed away. The purpose of the gatherings, praying and remembering is to support those who have passed in their afterlife / spiritual journey. In this case the Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos would be related because of the Mexican origins of the holiday.
Los Tacos is hosting the pop ups at Doodlebar where they will present an immersive experience featuring film, music and special cocktails like the fiery mezcal cocktail that is Los Tacos’ version of the Paloma. Beyond drinks and Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos (yum!) patrons of the limited time Pop-up Restaurant will also enjoy watching the Latin American horror cult classic film, Juan of the Dead.
Los Tacos Day of the Dead Pop-Up and Celebration at Doodle Bar’s is happening betwen 2-5pm, October 22nd-29th at Doodle Bar in Bermondsey. Tickets cost £25. Definitely worth the popping over to the pop up to enjoy some Glow-In-The-Dark Tacos if you are in the London area over Dia De Los Muertos! Be sure to comment if you tried them – would love to hear some feedback!
